A long furred cat walked into the cave of unity. She was exhausted from the day's work. Her mud colored fur darkened as he sun went away. She laid down with a thunp and looked around tiredly. It had been a very eventful day for her. Well, actually, she only hunted for the whole day. She had caught a lot of prey and was very exhausted. She groomed her fur a bit and sighed aloud. She had never been this tired in a very long time. Her eyes were droopy and she felt like she could just close her eyes and fall asleep any second. She needed to be a bit aware if any cat came though, especially from another group. She opened her mouth and a huge yawn came out.

A large, tan tom padded into the Cave of Unity. He laughed slightly at the sight of his chief dozing on the job. He shook his head and padded over and sat next to Mud. "Mud? It's Dust. I don't think Sin would find this very chief like." He murrmered into her ear. He layed down, their pelts touched aginst each other. Dust rolled on his back pawing at the air. A sudden gust blew a Maple leaf into the opening. He pawed at then let it gravity take over. "So what now?"

Mud smiled. Obviously Dust didn't know she had moved up to be deputy. Mud said happily, "Haven't you heard, I'm deputy now!" Mud had a big grin on her face. She purred happily and looked around. SHe knew she would get caught sleeping. Couldn't she have a break every once in awhile though? Mud sighed and smiled at Dust.

Dust looked up at Mud. "Really? Or are you just pulling my leg?" He asked cautiously. Usually Mud always mess around with him, teaseing him until he started to be wary of what she said. "So if I go ask Sin she'll say yes?"

Mud smiled and said in a truthful tone. "Of course I'm the deputy, why would I lie about something like that?" Mud frowned a bit. Did Dust not trust her word? Mud sighed and tried to get into a better mood. He was probably just astonished, that's all.

Dust rolled over to face Mud, their pelts touching. "Hey I was kidding." He said softly into Mud's ear. His whiskers tickingling her chin, his nose nuzzling her ear as his hot breath whooshed into her ear drum. Dust backed off a little so he could see her reaction. His large paw slowly went over Mud's and Dust's eyes softened like they had never had before. "I know when you're teasing."

Mud smiled a bit happier and said, "Ok.' She purred softly and licked Dust on the head a couple times. She said, "I guess I was over reacting, I'm sorry." She sighed and smiled at him. She groomed her fur a bit and smiled ceerfully at Dust. She hoped she hadn't worried him or anything. Mud could have so many different emotions at once and it bugged her.

Dust laughed. "Don't sweat it." He said, looking Mud in the eye. He rolled over yet again to look at the strange pictures on the wall that were from the two-legs anscetors, even before the cats ansestors had settled in this cavern. Dust closed his eyes, thinking of what it must had been like to move from one place to another only to settle in a new place and slowly rebuild the tribes. It was too much for him to handle.

Mud sighed and laid down by Dust. She just decided to ignore how dumb she was acting. She smiled at Dust warmly and wondered what he was looking at. Then she saw the pictures on the wall. They were very intereseting. She really hadn't paid much attention to them before. They seemed different to her now. She sighed and smiled happily at Dust. She licked his head and started to purr happily. He tail wagged back and forth happily.
